Instant messaging

Like a personal chat room, instant messenger programs allow users to have real time conversations via the internet.

Installation

You can either install your own modem (which can be sent preconfigured by your ISP), or an engineer can visit your home to install and test the hardware. Installing the router yourself will save on engineer costs.

Internet

A network of connections that allows computers to access information from each other. Any one with a computer and internet connection can access this information.

IP address

A computer’s numerical address by which it can be located within a network. They usually look like this: 192.254.86.201
